Disclaimer: Due to my relationship with Austin FC, I will not be discussing that team on this site.
It’s been a rough few weeks, but with an exciting faux rivalry weekend, I’m looking to stay above even for the year and hopefully get back to +2 units. Without further ado, let’s get to the picks.
The best bets below are all one unit bets. Action Network has a good list of betting terms if you’re new to the space. As always, line shop across the books to find the best line for you. The odds below are from BetMGM.
Best Bets
LA Galaxy win/draw vs. LAFC (-135)
Of course we have to start off with El Trafico. The Galaxy got humbled a bit last week by a strong Seattle team, but they did so without the services of Sebastian Lletget. The US international will be back to face an LAFC team that hasn’t looked all that impressive this year and will likely be without Carlos Vela. The Galaxy are big underdogs at home so I’m going to take the opportunity to get them at -135 with the double chance.
Portland Timbers win vs. Seattle Sounders (+180)
Look, I understand if you think this doesn’t make any sense. Seattle have been the best team in MLS and will likely get Nicolas Lodeiro from the start for the first time this year. Plus, Portland will be traveling back from Mexico City after getting eliminated from Concacaf Champions League. But they have three days to rest and will want to jumpstart their MLS season with a win against their rivals. Getting them as a dog at home is too good of an opportunity to pass up.
Philadelphia Union win at Chicago Fire (+210)
Philly had plenty of time to rest after their second leg and are coming into Chicago to face a team that has been unable to keep the ball out of the back of their own net. The Union won’t want to fall too far behind in the league after a poor start.
Record: 4-5 | Units: +0.89
Prop Bet of the Week
What a start! As you can see I’m already up over three units after San Jose started off their win with a bang — scoring one minute in when we just needed someone to score in the first 15 minutes. This week we’re going to make things really difficult. I see goals coming in Nashville, in fact it’s going to be three total between Nashville and the Revs (+300).
Record: 2-0 | Units: +3.60
MLS Week 4
There’s a reason I told you not to bet every game and stick to the best bets! It was a rough one out there, but again, this is just for fun. Also decided against keeping a record to make it clear this is JUST FOR FUN.
